Fu chanpuru with Umami taste-boosting Shiitake powder

In this recipe, we'll soak fu in plenty of egg and stir fry it. With Shiitake powder giving it heaps of Umami taste, this dish is really delicious! It's perfect with beer♪ Adding a little shiitake powder to your meals boosts the natural umami flavor. At the same time, the saltiness will rise and enable you to automatically lower your salt intake.

Ingredients (2 servings) (30 minutes)

  • 20g Fu(Dried wheat gluten)
  • 100g Luncheon meat
  • 1 Tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1/2 bag of beansprouts
  • 1/2 bunch Nira( Japanese garlic chives ),thickly sliced
  • 5g Thick bonito flakes
  • 1/2 tsp Soy sauce
  • A pinch of Salt and pepper
  • 1 Tbsp Wheat flour-A
  • 1/4 tsp Salt-A
  • 1 tsp Soy sauce-A
  • 1/2 tsp Sake-A
  • 1 Egg-A
  • 1 Tbsp Shiitake powder-A

Steps

Rehydrate the fu in plenty of water. Drain thoroughly.

Pour the flavorings marked A on the fu and mix, allowing the fu to absorb the flavors.

Cut the luncheon meat into bite-size pieces and fry over a medium heat in the sesame oil until golden brown.

Add the fu and continue to cook. When the fu has charred slightly, add the beansprouts and Nira and stir fry.

Season with the salt and pepper and finish off by adding the bonito flakes.
